Keri Moutaw - Maternal Consultant

Hi, my name is Keri Moutaw and I am a mother of 5 and a Child Specialist. I received my degree in Child Development from San Diego State University in 1995 and have been working with children and families for over 25 years. I have worked with children from age 0-18 and parents who are expecting. I specialized in working with children who have been abused and neglected. I also studied nutrition,
special education and psychology.

After I graduated, I worked for a foster care agency called The Casey Family Program for 5 years, helping kids and families in the foster care system. I also lead group therapy sessions with kids who had been sexually abused through an organization called Daughters and Sons United. After that, I worked for The Florence Crittenton Home teaching parenting skills to teen moms and helping them care for their babies.

I currently work with children who are delayed or have a disability and their families. I have found over the years that all children have special needs and all children need at least one person to love and care for them as well as teach them. I feel the bond that a parent has with their child can get them through any trauma or challenge in life. Parents have a big job. We need to teach our children everything they need to know so they are prepared in life. It’s no easy task and there is not just one way to do it. I hope with my experience I can offer some guidance and support, so you are able to teach your child what they need to know and be more informed to make the best choices for your child.

I am able to help families in the following areas: prenatal, infant & child nutrition, infant care, all areas of child development including gross motor skills, fine motor skills, cognitive skills, social-
emotional skills, adaptive/self-help skills, speech and language development and toilet training. Disabilities or disorders such as: autism, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, sensory processing disorder,
learning disorders, speech apraxia, hearing and vision impairments, ADD & ADHD, mental health disorders, feeding issues, sleep issues, drug exposure, acid reflux, preemies, allergies and various syndromes.

I am willing to try and help any family with whatever challenge they might be facing with their child or just help out with some tips for day to day parenting. I am passionate about giving children the best start in life and teaching parents how to have the best possible experience raising their children.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family,

Keri Moutaw
